»200 Years of Hegel's Philosophy of Right: An Interdisciplinary Debate«: Hegel's »Elements of the Philosophy of Right« is one of the most influential philosophical treatises ever written. Published 200 years ago, the »Philosophy of Right« still has the capacity to launch and enrich systematic debates in the fields of action theory, social and political philosophy, the philosophy of law and legal theory. This volume, to which prominent philosophers and legal scholars have contributed, illuminates both the history of the reception of the »Philosophy of Right« and the topicality of the ideas Hegel developed in his work.

Hegels 'Grundlinien der Philosophie des Rechts' gehören zu den einflussreichsten philosophischen Werken. Vor 200 Jahren entstanden, bereichern sie noch immer systematische Debatten auf den Gebieten der Handlungstheorie, der Politischen Philosophie, der Sozialphilosophie, der Rechtsphilosophie und der Rechtstheorie. Der vorliegende Band, zu dem prominente Philosophen und Rechtswissenschaftler beigetragen haben, beleuchtet sowohl die Rezeptionsgeschichte der Grundlinien als auch die Aktualität von Hegels Überlegungen.

Benno Zabel studied law from 1992 to 1998, as well as philosophy and literature from 1998 to 2001. In 2007 he obtained his PhD. From 2007 to 2014 he worked as Assistant Professor at the University of Leipzig, from 2015 to 2021 as Professor of Criminal Law and Philosophy of Law at the University of Bonn. Since 2021 he's Professor of Criminal Law and Philosophy of Law at the University Frankfurt am Main. In 2017 he was a Fellow at the Käte Hamburger Center for Advanced Study in the Humanities Law as Culture, in 2018/ 2019 Senior Fellow at the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg. Since 2018 he's active as Second Chair of the International Association for Philosophy of Law (German section). Eberhard Eichenhofer studied in Tübingen and Saarbrücken, where he also received his doctorate and habilitation. He worked as a research associate at the Federal Social Court and as a research consultant at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Social Law. From 1989 he was a professor of civil law and social law at the University of Osnabrück (until 1997) and at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. In 2003 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Gothenburg and in 2012 he was a corresponding member of the Scientific Academy in Göttingen. Since 2016 he has been living in Berlin in retirement. Stephan Kirste studied Law, History and Philosophy in Freiburg i.Br. and received his PhD in 1997. From 2004¿2012 he was Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Heidelberg. After he was substitute Professor of several Chairs in Münster and Heidelberg, he accepted the call to a Chair for Public law, European Law and Legal Philosophy at the German Speaking Andrássy University, Budapest in 2009. Since 2012 he has been University Professor at the Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg. Michael Pawlik; Doctorate (»Die Reine Rechtslehre und die Rechtstheorie H. L. A. From 2000 to 2003 Professor of Criminal Law and Legal Philosophy at the University of Rostock, from 2003 to 2013 Professor at the University of Regensburg, since 2013 Professor at the University of Freiburg. Full Member of the Leopoldina (German National Academy) and of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Corresponding Member of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and Arts. Holder of multiple Visiting Professorships and Honorary Doctorates. Hans-Christoph Schmidt am Busch ist Professor für Philosophie an der Technischen Universität Braunschweig. Seine Forschung liegt auf den Gebieten der Politischen Philosophie, der Sozialphilosophie und der Rechtsphilosophie. Darüber hinaus interessiert sich Hans-Christoph Schmidt am Busch für die Geschichte und die philosophischen Grundlagen der Ökonomik. Er ist Autor des Buches »¿Anerkennung¿ als Prinzip der Kritischen Theorie« (Berlin / New York, de Gruyter, 2011).
